Newsletter and Comments

Last Friday we sent out a newsletter to everyone(actually multiple newsletters, sorry about that). It was the first of a new set of weekly newsletters that will be sent out every Friday. The newsletters cover latest Screeze news and the best posts of the week.

Major Update

We have updated Screeze with many improvements for compatibility and extensibility. The links for changing status updates, logging in via an external service, and connecting accounts to an external service have been changed to lightbox-like popups to save screen space, making the layout of Screeze work better for low-resolution visitors. The member bars have been [...]

Loading Screen Removed

The loading screen that was shown when visitors accessed http://screeze.com that was visible for 5 seconds before redirecting to the forum has been removed. Going to http://screeze.com now immediately redirects to http://screeze.com/forum .

OpenID Authorization Page Redone

The old, text only, and ugly authorization page for Screeze’s OpenID system has been redone to something nice and stylish, try logging into an OpenID enabled website with your ScreezeID to check it out.

Like a Post

We have added the ability for you to like posts. At the end of every post(that isn’t your own) There is a like button that you can press. Pressing it will put your name underneath that post along with other names in a list of people who liked that post.

OpenID System Updated

When we were adding Facebook Connect to Screeze, we had silently disabled our OpenID system from giving user email addresses to the sites requesting them. Today, this silent removal has been reversed and the OpenID system is again able to give email addresses to requesting sites.

Screeze Chat

We had another one of our Screeze Chats today. This one was about how to best make Screeze active again. We discussed many methods from simply making more topics to advertisement to different ways of engaging users in the site. I think the chat was a success. You should be seeing some of the things [...]

Profile Page Updates

The profile page system has been updated recently to hopefully fix the random error messages for good. It has also been given a new feature. You are now able to choose a custom background color for your page.

Short downtime

Today there was a short downtime for about half an hour on Screeze for maintenance from 7:20 PM to 7:50 PM EST. Everything should be working just fine.
